The screen faded to black after atomic Annie finished talking. A hushed murmur slowly filled the room “quiet. The next movie will start in a second.” yelled Mirror Mira slamming her fist against the whiteboard.
The room was dead silent again; after a couple of seconds a cheesy horror movie score began playing then words began appearing on the screen.
“Our enemy: The Shattered Ones”
Once the title faded a little girl in a lab coat and an older woman were waving at the camera, the new movie seemed like a 1970 era movie. The little girl began talking “Hello girls, I am Stephanie Sparkle.” And the older woman said “And I am Holly Thompson.”
Stephanie began walking and the camera fallowed in front of her. Then she began “ The Shattered Ones arrived a couple of years after the Miracle girls got noticed. Later you will learn all about them but for now I plan on showing you why they are our main enemy.”
As the video faded from Stephanie to a desert it focused on a giant scorpion running towards a city only to hit a magic barrier. “ This is a Shattered One. “ Stephanie started “ their origin is a mystery still but we do know that they feed on fear and other negative emotions and all they care about is the destruction of the human race. This may seem cliché to you but I assure you they are no joke.
10 neon lights streamed through the air at the beast a shockwave cascaded away from the beast as a pain filled screech echoed in the distance. Though the start of the battle was decidedly one sided. When the element of surprise wore of the Shattered one began taking some ground. Both sides delivered consecutive near fatal blows, it became hard to watch after a while. Slowly girls began to drop, fewer and fewer got up to fight. Some were dissolved by whatever was in the tail, which was clearly not poison.
Things were looking grim when only four girls remained both sides looked at their limit when one of the girls summoned a massive hammer and was rocketed into the air by another girl only to slam down on the scorpions back, with a sickening crunch the hit managed to crack the beasts exo skeleton.
With rented vigor the girls began charging up a glowing orb. When the orb grew to a massive size compared to the girls they yelled “Peace party cannon blast” with a loud boom the orb flew at the giant scorpion. On impact the orb exploded into bright colors and streamers of light. When the dust cleared the scorpion was motionless.
Then the video faded again, this time to Holly appeared. “Once a Shattered one is finished off they are taken to one of our facilities to develop new techniques and manufacture new tools to aid in our war against these vile creatures.” She said while gesturing around the lab she was in. “ this facility is an essential part of defending humanity from destruction.” In the back you could see little girls and adults working together to dismember the corpse of the scorpion.
Finally Stephanie came back onscreen and said “ I am very glad to be one of the first to thank you for your service with the I.L.M.G. I hope to see you all someday and watch you bloom into hero’s”
Then the video faded to black.
Mira turned the lights up and said “ alright any questions before I send you to your next stop for today?”
