Katie stared at her reflection in the Magical Shop mirror with a sense of mystified wonder. Every cell of her body still tingled with the transformation, and gazing at this wonderful creature that stared back at her, she could hardly believe it was herself! From horn to hooves, from her white mane to the soft of her eyes Katie was now a unicorn. She knew and felt it, right down to her young soul. With this realization, she felt the magic inside her, the realization of the power she now possessed. The ring was still there, tied to her horn's own magics and equal to it. She could easily transform back to her human self, become anything she wanted ... but Katie wasn't human, not anymore.
She couldn't see herself as a human, at least not completely, despite everything else she knew. Thinking of her human self left a strange sense in her mind, a sense she now felt about her mother, warm and protective. She couldn't think of her as mother anymore but as someone to guard and guide. Katie knew on a fundamental level that her mind and perception of self had changed, but she didn't care, she didn't want it to change further. She wanted to stay this way, stay as a magical creature, no matter what.
Katie closed her eyes and felt the warmth of the magic naturally surround her again. The ring immediately diminished, retreated into her horn, and was absorbed. Into her came all the magics it possessed and out went her last chance at being truly human. Her heart swelled as the immortal promise she'd now accepted became a part of her. When she opened her eyes, she had changed.
The girl in the mirror somewhat resembled Katie, but didnt. Her hair was long and white, falling to her behind. A star shaped scar was now etched in the center of her forehead. Her eyes glowed golden, deep, and her fingers had a slight tint of gold to each of the nails. Finally and most interestingly, her feet were not human, but the white furred fetlocks of a unicorn, complete with golden cloven hooves.
Grinning, Katie tapped them in place, hearing the magical notes they produced. She felt powerful, vibrant, spreading her arms, her naked body was clothed in a white dress with golden flowers in her hair. Turning to the shopkeeper, she smiled. "Grandpa Merlin....I've come home."
