Dan said, "Have you ever heard of Tiny Services?"
Steve said, "No I've never heard of them."
Dan said, "They're a fairly new company. They are an employment agency. They hire employees for several companies. They specialize in hiring particular kinds of employees willing to do particular jobs."
Steve asked, "If the jobs are so particular, why would they hire me?"
Dan answered, "The jobs are particular but anybody could do those jobs. The problem Tiny Services has is getting employees that are willing to do those jobs. Like I said, you'll have to endure some discomfort but if you're willing, they'll hire you."
Steve asked, "What kind of jobs do they have?"
Dan asked, "A wide variety from working in places such as theme parks, spas, hospitals, and garages."
Steve asked, "So Tiny Services is a temp agency?"
Dan reassured, "No, their jobs are all fairly permanent. It is possible to get fired but from what I know about the company, most employees stay employed for life."
Steve asked, "How did you hear about Tiny Services?"
Dan said, "I regularly visit one of the companies that Tiny Services provides employees for."
Steve shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know. I have this gut feeling that I don't want to work for them."
Dan said, "Just go visit them. You can ask them all the questions you want. It can't hurt to check them out."

It took a while to find the offices of Tiny Services. They were on the fifth floor and down a long, winding hallway. The office was small. Steve walked through the glass front door to find a lobby that was only large enough for four chairs and the secretaries desk was crowded with filing cabinets because her desk had to do double duty since there was no records room. There were only two other rooms in the office.
Despite how small the office was, it was a very busy office. The secretary never had a moment when she wasn't on the phone and often she was talking to multiple people at the same time. Several people kept picking up or dropping off packages and a handful of people in business suits would take those packages into a back room. There were also a few people dressed like technicians who mostly stayed in the back room. Steve couldn't hear what a lot of the people were saying but what he heard sounded like negotiations with businesses about how many people they wanted to hire.
Steve waited for the secretary to give him a moment. Then Steve said, "I have questions about the jobs."
"Have a seat. We'll be with you in a moment." The secretary turned back to her phones and ignored Steve. Steve sat down and looked at the magazines. There weren't many but they had issues of Miniatures Showcase and Dollhouse World. Steve thought those must be two of the companies that Tiny Services hires for.
The secretary turned to look at Steve, "They're ready now. Just go down the hall, enter the door on your left and have a seat."
Steve said, "I just have questions."
The secretary said, "They'll answer all your questions there. I'm too busy to answer any questions. Now shoo."
Steve about decided to leave Tiny Services but he needed a job. He found the room to be strangely empty. There was a chair but there were no tables, counters, or desks. There were no pictures on the wall. The walls, floor and ceiling were all smooth and white. Considering how crowded the secretaries desk was, Steve wondered why they didn't move some of that stuff into this room.
He didn't have time to wonder because the moment he sat down in the chair, he saw a bright flash and felt intense heat. Then everything turned dark. He wasn't in that room anymore. He tried to figure out where he was and discovered he was naked and surrounded on all sides by cloth. He pushed through to find his way out of the cloth when he felt the cloth move. It knocked Steve off balance. Then he felt skin grab hold of him and pull him out. Then he saw a giant lifting him out of his clothes. Steve screamed.
"You're hired." said the giant. "We already have a job lined up for you."
Steve yelled, "You shrunk me."
"Yeah, we do that. That's why we're called Tiny Services."
Steve yelled, "I didn't want to be shrunk. I didn't know I could be shrunk. I just came here with questions."
The giant said, "Well that's unfortunate. The process of regrowing you back to normal is many times more expensive than the process of shrinking you. We will grow you back if you insist but how about you think about it for a bit. We need a tiny man like you so give the job a try. If you decide you still don't want the job, we could try something else."
Steve didn't get a chance to say anything more. He was dropped in a package and sealed in. He banged on the walls and screamed. He felt the package shake like an earthquake for nearly an hour.
