For the next few days, Jeff's life was a humiliating repeat of everything a Donkey could endure, and with each day his hopes of ever going home became more and more subdued. Looking at his hooves, at his body, at that ridiculous face reflected in his miopic vision and the dirty water trough, Jeff knew he was no longer human. Even if he could turn back...those shoes on his damn hooves would rip his hands and feet apart.
Jeff wept donkey tears, his head drooped. After a time, Jeff for his part started to forget human things, perhaps it was his mind trapped in the body, but he began to degrade. As the sun rose and set, and rain came and went, he stayed out in the dark of Markoh eventually tired of his antics and sold Jeff to a little girl. What neither knew though, was that somehow the Chronivac followed Jeff. As such, when the girl got her present of a donkey, she would also get the present of the Chronivac.

It was Emily's tenth birthday, and man was it a strange one. Emily was an only child, a bright little girl of Japanese decent who lived on a farm with her grandmother after her parents had passed away. Emily was something of a tomboy, taking care of the animals being one of her favorite things.
This birthday, her grandmother had purchased an adolsecent donkey named Jeff and Emily became fond of the animal instantly. There was something so very sad, so human about his eyes, that the little girl couldn't help but be fascinated by him. For his part, Jeff stared at the little human and some part of him registered that she was empathetic of his feelings.
That night, after all the party guests had gone, Emily found she had another and more unexpected present. Booting up the computer in her room, she found a program marked Chronivac, and on it was the last log-in of someone named Jeff....
