My name is Phillip Seawell, I used to be a trainee working at Crest Laboratories, they were a company specialized in testing , prototyping and developing seemingly novel technologies.
One of such technologies was the Teleporter, the theory allowed for small objects, up to 20cm³ to be transported between two points, regardless of distance, via electromagnetic uplink. I was assigned to this team, the people were nice, they gave me tasks to learn, never pushing too much, I have no complaints about their behaviour with me.
I devised a theory, after 3 weeks working at the lab and watching apples, get sent to another unit of Crest in the phillipines, from our lab in england.My theory used harmonic resonators of different materials to “imprint” into the tissue of space time, a rift, which would send the object out of this 4-dimensional plane, into the nexus of dimensions.
With permission from my supervisor, and support from my team, I devoted my overtime to building a prototype. After 4 weeks, i managed to increase the volume threshold of typical teleportation to 3m³ using derivations of my theory, and finished building a capsule which had already sent and retrieved objects from the nexus of dimensions, the capsule was meant to transport people eventually, but deciding not to be too bold, we sent small objects, some came back, some didn't, other were replaced with something of equal mass, in one of our experiments we placed a basket of fruits in the capsule and resonated to 330Khz, after the object was sent, we opened the chamber and found nothing, but out of curiosity i left the chamber resonating and after 20s, there was a sound of metal banging on the insides of the chamber, worried, me and Tom, one of my coworkers forcedly opened the chamber, inside was a silver plate, with silver cups and a steaming teapot. We sent the liquid to be analyzed, it was found to be fine fennel tea.
It was 2 months after I started working here, when a local anti-spacetime terrorist group attacked,
it was about 1pm, no alarms sounded, it was suddenly a scream, bullet shoots, immediately my supervisor ordered us to stay low and wait here, terrified, but in control he leaned to take a peek at the corridor, as he did so, a soldier hit him with the rifle handle, and quickly I blacked out as well.
When I woke up I was tied and on my chamber, through the window I could see a woman in militia outfit who seems to be their leader making a speech to other lab staff, because of hermetic-proofing in my chamber all I could distinguish was:
“This is the fool who tried to defy god... the only way... to send him to...divine judgment ...”
As she finished, she activated the chamber, not bothering to change the frequency. It was as if the wall behind me suddenly vanished and I was falling in a pit of black, the only light, getting farther by the minute was coming from the window above, then I started falling... up? And passing right in front of my chamber, looking up I saw a sea of primal colors, as I approached galaxies, planets, cities, stars passed around me, as quickly as it all started, it seems I was slowing down approaching an earthlike planet with 3 moons and two big landmasses, I continued going down , as I entered the atmosphere, a large city, entered into view, together with floating castles, hanging gardens and a statue of a woman dressed as a sorceress with orange gems for eyes, and quite large chest, I stopped falling at this point and was being dragged horizontally through the city, passing closer to the statue I noticed, she had large fox ears on top of her head, looking down in the statue I noticed two tails behind her, “What is this world?” noticing the people under me, they looked like normal peasants in a medieval age, some had pointed ears, other had animal ears of all species. Looking forward to where I was being dragged to, I saw a white-stone(in this world, it might not be marble) castle, traversing through the wall, then everything went black again.
My body was aching all over, as if I just exercised, opening my eyes I seemed to be in cobblestone flooring, lying on the ground face down and the air smelled slightly of feces, trying to stand up was hard, perhaps gravity here is stronger?, to my left was a wood building with many open entrances, looking inside I saw horses of all colors, including blue and purple, next to the horses I saw very large wolfs which stood shoulder to shoulder with the horses, large yellow avian creatures, which I only saw in games before, chocobos. To the right I saw a part of the castle, with multi-colored glass windows, of predominantly blue and orange, in front of me seemed to be another entrance to the castle, with a foxy maid taking the leftovers to the stables, looking closer I noticed she had large breasts, perhaps it's a common trait among fox-ladies?, blonde hair which extended just over her shoulders until the breast line, her ears also had the same color of fur, she was small, about 1,60m heading straight to the stables and on her hip, a dagger, seeing I was still tied, it can cut the rope. Yelling for her would call unnecessary attention from the locals which could kill me seeing me as a creature from another world, but at the same time I needed to know where I was and what was this place. I could also try exploring the stables and look for something to cut my ties, but could be a risk, there could be someone already there expecting the maid. Considering my options I decided to:
