- Flashback -
You're walking onto a dock with your parents. You're heading on a cruise to New York for your 13th birthday. You look back and find a family of homeless guinea pigs scurrying along, very cute and small, and so you stop to glance at it. Your parents have already went on the cruise boat, and have left without you. You turn back around, and another boat has taken the cruiser's place. You jump on and look for your mother as the boat prepares to leave.
Later, news spread that the cruiser before this one has crashed.
You're on an island of boys. They refuse to let you in until you look like a boy. They cut your long black hair off, cut your hair to a guy's cut, and tear apart your hand me down dress. They give you some denim shorts with 6 pockets and a tee. The only thing they didn't take from you was your undergarments.
Your voice is sore and you are sneaking onto a ship heading back to mainland. You can nearly hold back your tears, and your black tail lashes out with emotion. Your glossy tar-colored ears are very fluffy and soft, but they've replaced your small human ears.
- Real life, the next day -
You're in Maine somewhere. By the coast. Nothing matters though. Not to you. You're cold and starving, and mostly, unable to speak. You sit in a corner, mostly concealed by a garbage dumpster. You scour the dumpster for food and just as you officially give up and slump up against the dumpster in tears, a boy comes running with a bag of vegetables. Before he notices you, he ducks next to you.
