None knew where the 'baby furs' came from, many doubted even they knew. Research by those who cared concluded the first one appeared in Florida, playing on a strip of beach. A fur covered toddler in nothing but diapers, looking like a cross bread between a human girl and a squirrel.
No one really knows what the diapers are even for, since they're either self cleaning or at least never need changing.
A kindly couple with no children of their own noticed her first and their curiosity lured them first closer to her. She was just playing by herself, giggling and laughing.
Her laughter proved infectious, VERY infectious, and a few minutes later, a cheetah boy, and a white rabbit girl in nothing but diapers were helping her build a sand castle.
People finally began to notice, some ran, some called authorities to be utterly ignored. Another man came close, heard their laughter, began giggling himself, and his clothes fell away, and a horse boy in diapers continued to help build the sand castle.
Eventually the furs grew bored with their game and began to wander in land. Finally someone recorded what was happening and WAS taken seriously by those in control (thankfully recordings an transmissions of their laughter didn't seem to have the same effect). Animal control and police were called in, wearing mufflers herded the four baby furs into a transport truck.
This held them only as long as they were amused by the ride, which happened to be when they stopped at the army base. Then they touched the back of the truck, and it turned into something like the side of a play pen that they opened and simply wandered out. Then an officer gave the order to 'put them down.'
Guns, missiles, bombs, all seemed to malfunction when aimed at them or used with an intent to cause indirect harm (like firing a bazooka at a building to make it fall down on them). More than one, weapons they touched turned into squirt guns or similar water toys of proper model and design, anyone squirted with them quickly becoming a new baby fur themselves.
Soon several new baby furs, all wearing diapers, but many wearing plastic play versions of army helmets, began stomping around in mock marching, saluting each other, laughing.
