Looking back at remembering those sorrowful eyes of hers, you knew you couldn't near it to actually break Alicia's heart, even if she was half human. So, you decided to at least let Alicia know that you were here for her, as you carefully made your way toward the still singing Alicia. Fortunately, the water at the inner half of the lagoon was shallow enough to stand in, as the water only reached up to just below your knees.
However, when you were inches away from one of Alicia's tentacles, you slowly raised your left hand and had it get caught in the tentacle's grasp. But from your girlfriend's perspective,once she felt one of her tentacles grab something out of impulse, she stopped singing to look down, only to notice you below her. Her reaction was of shock and surprise as she said, "D-Dalton?"
Shortly after her shock died down, Alicia began to look away from you, with a saddened look on her face, as if she was ashamed for not telling you sooner. And yet, you were still holding onto the one tentacle still wrapped around your hand, as you heard her speak to you again, but with a sad tone in her voice and said, "*sob* You.....Y-You must be thinking that I'm.... *sob* That I'm some sort of freak, d-don't you? Little old Alicia the octopus girl can't even have a.....a-"
From there, Alicia started burying her face into her hands, crying from thinking that you didn't love her because she looked like a monster. Obviously feeling guilty from unintentionally making her upset, you squeezed on her tentacle a little and answered, "Actually, Alicia......I don't care if you're human or not, I still love you as a person."
From hearing what you said to her, Alicia slowly raised her head from her hands, eyes soaked with tears, as she turned around to look at you, still perched upon the rock she sang from. "Do....*sob* Do you really meant what.....what you said, Dalton?" She asked, with you simply nodding in response, reassuring Alicia that you still have feelings for her, despite she has the lower half of an octopus.
