Alexandra was released from her cage to take a place on stage with the dog man.
She was less fearful than Hannah and shook off the dog man's touch on her shoulder. "Ooh, she's a spiky one. Aggressive and willing to stand her own ground! Who wants her?"
The beasts in the crowd began bidding. Alexandra was beginning to build a preference in her mind for the type of animal she might want to be - if she has to be one at all. She didn't want to be a chicken like Hannah. It seemed like she'd lost her mind - she had a little bird brain now, and would be good for little else than a good omelette.
Alexandra, meanwhile was subject to a bidding war - a leopard man wanted her, a horse man wanted her, and a lobster man wanted her, too. Out of those three, she was definitely more enthusiastic about gaining spots or hooves than getting lobster claws. Even if she was part of a leopard man's harem, she could spend her days lazing in the sun, maybe. How about a diamond-studded collar? Yeah - that sounded good.
But the lobster guy was persistent, and so was the horse. The leopard man was flagging, unsure how much more he could afford.
"Come on, guys - keep bidding! Is this lovely human to find herself with mane and tail or spots and tail? Or is that a delicious bisque I smell in the back?"
Alexandra shuddered. Her preference was to get the heck out of there, but failing that - horse or leopard, please!
