Mike could not get settled. He kept thinking of how important Landros was to the party, and how he had screwed up. Finally, he sighed and told the others he was going back. "Let me see if I can talk him into joining us."
"What if he decided he likes you better in his stables?" Joe snorted. "You are already heading towards horse again."
Christine nodded in agreement. "I think our former elf has changed you some more since we left."
Brian flushed and looked ashamed. "Sorry. I didn't mean to."
Mike leaned over and pulled the boy up onto his back, twisting slightly to also give him a hug. "Hey, you are a super stable boy. And I don't really mind all that much. We'll both go, and if I end up a horse again, you can stay and take care of me."
Brian brightened. "Really! That's great!"
The other two members of the party sighed and shook their heads. "You know, Tye isn't going to keep changing you back." Christine chuckled. "Though I have to say you did make a magnificent horse."
"Yeah, and a horse can't talk!" Joe's thundering dragon voice also sounded amused. "Besides, I'd feel funny eating centaur, but a horse sounds like fine dining!"
"I'll give you indigestion." Mike grinned. "OK. See you in the morning, we hope." He trotted back towards the town with Brian on his back.
