He felt it. He knew he should stop, but the grain was so good and he was sooooo hungry. Other cows moved away from the feeder but Mark kept going. He didn't stop until his long tongue licked the metal. He stepped away, feeling huge and bloated.
He saw his image in the side of the feeder. There was no sign of human. No sign of Mark. A cow stared dully back. He tried to yelp in fear, but a low moo came out.
Now he was scared. He tried to say something. Anything. But only mooed. He couldn't talk! He couldn't tell his Dad about what happened! He was just another cow!
At that moment, light came in as his father entered. He was wearing his gloves and the udder cream. It was milking time! Mark had a sudden surge of dread as he realized his...his udder ached.
He was about to be milked for the first time.
