Tim wasn't really in need of new clothes, he was just curious about the strange new store he had heard about, the huge one with the staggeringly large variety of clothes and the creepy manager. And it wasn't as though he had anything else to occupy all the free time on his hands during the long, boring summer between high school and college (other than get a job like everyone else he knew already had, of course, but that was a worry for another day).
Arriving at the store he found that it was, as he has heard, huge. In fact, it seemed like it was a lot bigger on the inside than it was out the outside, but obviously that wasn't right. Probably just a trick of the light. It was divided into sections, with the more mundane ones--men's, women's, boys', girls'--at the front. Beyond those, the signs got weirder. Costumes, apparently divided into cosplay or animal costumes, historical clothes, and... wow, they just put "Fetish Gear" right on the sign, without even bothering to come up with a more tasteful euphemism. A strange place indeed. And even stranger was the manager, standing at the front by the check-out desk, who looked as Tim heard he did, tall and thin with jet black hair and the most disturbing grin Tim had ever seen. "Welcome to my store," the manager leered at him, but that was it. No asking him if he needed help, no offering to help him find something, nothing. Strangest of all, there didn't seem to be anyone behind him at the check-out desk. Actually, there didn't seem to be anyone else in the entire store, employee or customer.
"Uh, are you sure you're open?" Tim asked the manager, but he just silently leered some more. This place was too weird. Tim got a chill, a feeling telling him he should run away from this strange place now and never come back. But he fought it off.
