David and Steve were roommates in college. David was studying art and already had commissions. Steve hadn't decided on a major yet since he was in college to play football. They were best friends even though David was gay and Steve was straight.
One day, Steve brought a dollhouse home.
David said, "Aren't you a little old for a dollhouse?"
"Har har," said Steve, "It isn't mine. It's Sheryl's. She asked me to look after it until she can ship it home."
"Whatever," David teased, "You just can't wait till I'm not here so you can play dollies."
Steve snapped, "It isn't even a child's dollhouse. Look, it's made out of real wood, not plastic. It's a miniature model house with such fine detail that you'd have to use a microscope to see any flaws. It can even light up. Watch."
Steve plugged it into a nearby outlet and the front porch lit up.
"Wow" said David. He then touched some of the other things that were hanging from the back of the hose such as something that looked like a miniature garden hose. "Does this house have other features like running water?"
Steve said, "I don't know. It's Sheryl's dollhouse. She knows about it."
Then David touched something else hanging from the back of the house, "What is this thing?"
