Zebulon searched hopelessly, almost giving up hope, until he stumbled across an ancient book he found deep within the university's library. It looked like it must have been written around the middle ages, as it was written in Old English. But it was still readable enough that Zebulon could understand it. Essentially, it was a spell book. It could do all sorts of things. And a lot of things that seemed impossible. Like turn people into animals, or inanimate objects, but keep the people aware. It was all weird and fascinating, but it wasn't what Zebulon wanted. He needed something to help him take the place of Xavier. He wanted his life and he was determined to get it.
After taking the book back to his dorm room, Zebulon looked through it, very thoroughly. He wanted to know all of his options. And man, did he have a lot of options.
He could swap bodies with Xavier, just like he wanted, or he could switch lives with him, making it so that Zebulon's family, friends, and everything would remain the same, but would be way more accepting of Zebulon's homosexuality. He wondered what that would be like. His own father being okay with Zebulon being gay. Would his father even be a pastor anymore? Probably not. But what did Zebulon care? If it made his father accept him for who he was, then so be it. There were also other options in the book too, like ...
"What ya lookin' at, dude?" his scraggly roommate Justin asked.
Zebulon slammed the book shut suddenly and looked at him. "Nothing."
Justin shrugged. "Whatever." Then he went to the closet and rummaged through it, apparently looking for something. Probably looking for his drug stash. Zebulon had never seen Justin do drugs, but he always imagined that he was type that would.
Maybe Zebulon could test out one of these spells on Justin, just to see if it would work. The lanky guy could certainly use some improvement.
Looking back in the book, Zebulon searched for a good spell to use.
