The whole thing had been scary for all of them. It revealed to them that Baby Furs were mortal and could in fact die. It also revealed that there was now another faction in play besides just humans. These "imps" came about from what had been flippantly called "silly" efforts by humans to prevent more humans from being changed against their will. However, based on what they had seen, it was likely that these "imps" weren't going to play nice or even follow the commands they had been summoned to serve.
"That... that... that..." Jessy stammered as screen faded to black, "that was mean!"
She actually began to cry at that. Almost instinctively, Sammy wrapped his arms around her. She was his bestest friend and it hurt him to see her so sad. The situation was sad and scary, and Sammy felt a great deal of sadness at not being able to meet and befriend Jamie O'Toole in person, but he felt he had to be strong for Jessy.
"It'll be okay, Jessy," Sammy said to her, "Good always wins and those meanies will go the place for bad people."
"We gotta stop her," Jessy said weakly, still crying, "She'll kill us all."
Sammy got the sensation that Red'ith would try to do just that, and unlike much of what humans had previously tried, Red'ith could actually hurt and kill them. For the moment, Sammy could only hope that their water pistols and their own powers could defend the other Baby Furs from whatever the imps might do, as their attempt to corrupt the Baby Fur who had let himself be captured as a promise to a relative had failed. They might be able to fight back in that way, but Sammy was also heavily concerned over this. They still had to solve their issues with humanity, who's fear of Baby Furs' transformative powers wasn't going to go away just because their last attempt backfired. People would be scared of the imps as well, sure, but that wouldn't mean they'd decide to become Baby Furs. And now they had another issue to solve.
"We will," Sammy assured her with his arms around Jessy's shoulders.
"How?" the Orca Baby Fur, Oscar, asked curiously.
"The first fur," Sammy answered, "the Squirrel Baby Fur who appeared in Florida... however you explain how we do what we do... it can be described as magic and those scientists even figured out that that's what it was..."
"But making our transformative powers voluntary wouldn't stop those bad thingies," Doctor Sammy said to him.
"That'd help with the humans," Sammy answered, "but if it is magic and she remembers... maybe she also knows a way to stop those bad thingies. Like some other spell... or she knows a wizard."
"A good one?" Jessy asked.
"Hope so," Sammy answered, "then we'd know how to save the humans and stop the bad thingies and we can all live together without any worry about humans being transformed when they don't want to be..."
"How can you know for sure?" Oscar worried, "the humans surely thought that what they would do would turn the Baby Fur back into a human... or that they'd get something that could turn us into Humans."
"I don't," Sammy admitted, "but that's why we gotta find her. See if she or a friend of hers knows anything... and then do something. Those people probably rushed things without knowing what they were doing."
Oscar and Doctor Sammy slowly nodded.
"You two will need tickets to Florida," Doctor Sammy commented, "St. Augie, I think."
"Okay," Sammy nodded.
"We'll also talk to leading Baby Furs on what to do to stop those bad thingies," Oscar added, "but do keep your promise. We don't want to scare anyone need-less-lee."
"I promise," Jessy held up her pinkie finger, though her eyes were still set with tears.
"Me too!" Sammy agreed and held up his pinkie finger as well.
