Kel smiled brightly in response, happy that his brother was somewhat on board with his plan. The spell would not be the best fix, but at least they would be able to spend time outside with other people. "Great, the spell books should still be where we left it." Kel replied. He and Jake maneuvered their body to the edge of the bed with their feet dangling off the edge. Coordinating their one body was much easier after a good night's rest.
They slipped off the bed and walked to Kel's desk, where the book laid open like they had left it. Kel fingered through the book, trying to find the spell he had mentioned before. Jake tapped his knee patiently. "Ah, here it is." Kel finally said with a finger pointing to the correct page. "The Illusion spell..." he read aloud in a mystified tone.
Jake turned to look at the page Kel was still pointing to. Jake traced, with a finger, description and rules of the spell, making sure to read everything. He did not want to miss the 'fine line' like Kel had missed with the last spell. Finished with reading the passage, Jake summarized for Kel, "Well, it sounds like it could work. But, it is a tad more complicated than you had lead on."
Kel shrugged his shoulder. "It will work though, and then we could actually go outside and hang out."
"Hang out at school, you mean." Jake smiled.
"Whatever, at least we will not be cooped up in here waiting for the conjoinment spell to end. Please...." Kel said with puppy dog eyes.
"Alright, alright." Jake agreed, he too wanted to get out of the house. "Just remember that you have to be very specific. This spell kind of piggy-backs onto the original caster's spell, allowing you to adjust what people perceive. But..."
"...only once, I know." Kel cut in. "I can only make an illusion once, with a time-limit. Then we'd have to wait for it to end on its own before casting another illusion."
"Good." Jake smiled, satisfied with his brother's response. "Now I guess we have to decide what we want people to see..." Jake let the sentence hang. "I think the only two viable options are for people to either not see us joined, or to see us joined but understand that it is 'normal', nothing freaky about us sharing a body."
