For what seems like half an hour you hurry through the swamp, trying to find a way out. The moon has since gone down, and the canopy of cypress trees and moss create a darkness your eyes cannot penetrate. Exhausted you come to a spot of dry dirt to rest. Dread suddenly hits you as you realize you are lost.
How did such a huge swamp seem to appear out of nowhere? Earlier you entered a strange house, and somehow you found yourself lost within miles of wetland? Not to mention, you were almost raped or killed by an anthropomorphic alligator. It was strange that she seemed (rape intentions aside) friendly. Was there something to what the gator lady had said? About the mud, and a swamp dimension or something? None of this made any sense whatsoever.
That didn’t even include your strange new appendage. A tail… You had forgotten about it in your panic. Was it even real? You try to convince yourself you imagined it, but even in the darkness you can feel there is something in your pants. You sit, half asleep, trying to forget and wishing for sunrise which is a whole night away.
And then you realize you can see light. The sky seemed to be giving a dim light. That can’t be the sun can it? You soon realize that it is. It feels like only a few hours (or less, one hour?) since yesterday when you entered the strange house. Even time doesn’t even make sense. You’re so relieved though you don’t care. You sit for several minutes until the tip of the sun finally comes out beyond the trees. You can see clearly now.
Looking around you, the swamp doesn’t seem so foreboding in the morning light. It is then that you see…..
