Dan took a deep breath and stared at himself and his surroundings, trying to assess his predicament. He was a naked human boy with dog ears, a dog tail, dog paw pads, a dog nose, and dog genitals, tied to a doghouse by his evil witch sister. And reality had been warped so that everybody except his sister seemed to think he was a normal dog, so there was nobody who could even try to help him...
Dan shook his head. No time to think about that. Night was falling and this was the first time he was alone without Kat nearby to punish his every move. Hands trembling, he reached out to his leash to try to untie it and make his escape, but he couldn't slip his fingers between the knot.
Dan looked at his hands and was horrified to see and feel his fingers distorting and cracking, turning into inflexible dog paws. "NOOOO!" he howled. He rammed his entire body against the doghouse, then froze as he heard sounds from his house, particularly Kat's room upstairs. Would Kat notice the noise?
Dan waited. Nobody came. Soon the lights were all off and the house was silent. He waited a few more minutes to be safe, then righted himself onto all fours and rammed against the doghouse wall.
Once. Twice. Dan felt immense pain on his furry doggy sides and wanted to stop, but then the image of Kat standing over him controlling his motion and body surfaced in his mind and he started again.
Three times. Four times. There was a sharp crack. Dan pulled, and saw that the board that the leash was tied to had broken away from the rest of the house.
Slowly, he padded his away out of the doghouse. His leash and board followed, but he managed to walk out of his family's yard.
He was free! But it was an ungodly hour in the morning and Dan could barely see a thing. Then he had an idea. Dan put one paw behind his face and pushed it downwards, then put another paw to his collar and pulled it towards the direction of his eyes. He felt his mouth move outward and his teeth crackle as they formed a dog's muzzle, but at the same time, his field of vision flashed and suddenly Dan could see in the dark. A dog's night vision was surely better than a human's.
"Ha," he muttered quietly to himself through his deformed mouth. "I'll get back at you yet, sister." He spat and ran into the neighborhood.
