Robbie and Caroline are both 16 years old but complete innocents.
They are comfortable in each other's company but that's because they're so similar. They don't have many other friends.
Robbie in particular is unlike many of other guys at school who only seem interested in sports and sex. He is shy, sensitive and very intelligent. But that's why Caroline and her over protective parents like him so much and trust him in her company.
It is a warm sunny day and as usual, Robbie and Caroline have found themselves in each other's company. There is a fair going on in the neighbouring town and the pair decide to go check it out. Once there, they go on a few rides, try a few snacks and visit some of the stalls. It is coming to the end of their day trip together and they are ready to leave and get the next bus home when another stall catches their attention.
It is a brightly coloured tent right in the middle of the fairground which they had somehow missed before. Outside there is a sign, 'Get your fortune told and transform your life, five dollars'.
Neither Robbie or Caroline are particularly superstitious and in usual circumstances wouldn't go near a fortuneteller. But there's something about the tent which draws them in and before they know it, Robbie is inside and staring into Madame Devage's crystal ball while Caroline waits outside for her friend.
As Robbie stares deeper into the crystal ball he spies the new future that awaits him
