"Lieutenant Parker, put that thing down!" shouted Murphy striking the mask from his superior's hands, "We're here on serious business. Two missing boys, remember?"
Parker blinked the sand from his eyes. What had come over him?
"Oh, sorry, Murphy. I don't know what came over me?"
"Do you think he hypnotized you or something?"
"I can't be hypno- but maybe I can? Say, Sneed!"
Mr. Sneed swung the filing cabinet aside and disappeared through a secret passage. The filing cabinet swung shut.
"That's impossible!" shouted Murphy, "That's the exterior wall, how can there be a stairway behind it?"
"Maybe the interior and exterior wall angle apart. We both saw him disappear down a stairwell. See if you can budge that filing cabinet. I bet those boys are down there," Parker said resuming command, "I'll call for backup."
Parker phoned as Murphy struggled to move the filing cabinet. The cabinet shifted only to reveal floor and wall, no secret stairs.
"I'll get a sledgehammer from the car," Murphy said.
