The lectures were boring - as usual - and Todd began to fantasize about Heidi. She was so beautiful, but so unapproachable. Idly, he wished that he could be attractive to her, like her fantasy lover. He felt a warmth on his finger, and looked to the ring on his finger. It appeared to glow slightly, then fade. Todd thought nothing more about it, and returned to his fantasies. He began to feel strange - his clothes felt tight, especially his shoes, and his hair seemed to be obstructing his view. He looked around the classroom, and saw Heidi staring at him with an odd look on her face. It made him feel even more anxious, and he asked the teacher if he could be excused to the restroom.
As he walked down the halls towards the bathroom, the pain in his shoes increased, making it difficult to walk. He quickly entered a stall and took off his shoes. He was shocked to see that his feet were larger, and appeared to be growing before his eyes. His clothes felt even tighter, and he saw his bare stomach below the bottom of his shirt. He brushed an errant hair out of his eyes, and was shocked to see that it was now long and blond. Am I going crazy, or is this some kind of magic? he thought. The ring. It glowed after I wished to be Heidi's fantasy lover! No wonder he was growing so tall! Of course Heidi would want a guy taller than her. He was a little confused about why she would want a guy with long blond hair, but that was a small price to pay. He examined his arms which were long thin, and smooth. Must like wiry guys, he thought. Suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his face, brief but painful. When he blinked, his vision cleared. He knew his face had changed, and eagerly opened the stall and ran to the mirror to see his new face.
He was shocked to see that he looked like an exact copy of Heidi, right down to the deep blue eyes! What was going on? Heidi couldn't be in love with herself, he thought?
His hips began to widen, digging painfully into his pants. He quickly took them off to relive the pain. Suddenly, he heard the door to the men's room begin to open, and ran quickly back into the stall. My pants, he thought I left them outside!
