"There must be hidden eye-holes in the neck" you postulate, as you examine the long-necked giraffe mask. It's got a 3 foot neck, so unless there's a periscope, it must have eye-holes in the neck. It is heavy as you lift it up and lower the neck opening over your head and on to your shoulders. It's a tight fit, but at last the edges of the neck rest on your shoulders. It was dark, but now suddenly you can see. Your perspective is wrong. Your head seems to be nearly touching the ceiling. Must be periscopes, you decide. You push the mask up your neck, but it's like your neck stretched or something. Your arms are fully extended, but the mask is still on your head. You panic for only a moment. You bend over and let gravity help slide the giraffe mask from your head. You lift your head, as you stand straight, and inhale the fresh air. Something is wrong. Your head seems heavier than normal on your shoulders. Your neck sways as you survey the room. You turn to find a full-length mirror, and rush over to it. You are too close and must step back. Your head is over the top of the mirror. You stare at your human. but 3 foot long neck. It's your face at the end. Ludicrously, you think you need one of those 1970's Doctor Who scarves just to cover your neck when winter comes. You try reaching up to touch the top of your head, and maybe push it down, but your arms are too short. You bend over and place your head against the wall, and push into it. Your neck remains telescoped, but now it hurts.
What are you to do? You look at the other masks. Maybe one of them will make your neck shorter, but you don't know how to put it on since your hands cannot reach your head. Then you notice some other costuming items. There are gorilla gloves designed to make the human wearer look like a knuckle dragger. Maybe those would stretch your arms enough to reach? There are frog fins for hands and feet, frog's necks are almost non-existent, maybe wearing those will shrink your neck? You find a bin filled with various animal tails: fox, cow, horse, rabbit, lizard, monkey, ostrich, and a few you aren't sure about. There's another section filled with animal body suits without heads with a sign that reads, Mix and Match Animal Masks, Suits, Gloves and Shoes! There's even a sketch of a maned lion headed chimera with a winged arm-length gloves, goat hooves, a gorilla body and a lizard tail. You wonder if that's just a suggestion or a drawing of an actual person. You shudder. You have to do something, so....
