Connor looked around his room. There were two beds, three wooden chairs, and already posters on the wall. On one of the beds looked like a small dog bed. Connor put his backpack down on one of the wooden chairs. He looked around. So he would have two other roommates, he was wondering how they would fit in such a small room. Well at night at least he wouldn’t take up much space, but he did need to make sure to get all his homework done before sundown however.
Connor while waiting for his roommates decided to claim the desk in front of him. He started digging through his backpack and started putting his text books on the desk.
“That is actually my desk.” Connor jumped, he heard a voice but no one was in the room. Were they invisible? Seeing what he had at this school it wouldn’t surprise him. “Who is there?”
“Down here.” Connor looked down. Nothing but the floor. “No, under your backpack.” Connor froze, did he smash another student with his backpack? He slowly lifted up his backpack and saw the seat of the wooden chair.
Embedded in the pattern of the wood grain Connor saw a very human face. The face was made up of the different patterns of the wood, but Connor could clearly see eyes, features that looked like hair, a nose, a mouth, and even speckled wood that looked like freckles. The face smiled and looked up at Connor, “Hello, the name is Kevin.” Connor stared at the chair for a few moments, awkward in the silence the chair seat darted his eyes a bit and cleared his throat. “What is your name?”
