You look back in the mirror and then at the books. "It's sorta neat being back in the past, but I'd like to be a little older. Old enough to, uh, well..." You flush, finding that your 1950 boy's mind set doesn't want to actually talk about sex.
The barber grins. "Oh, I know what you want. I can suggest a couple of haircuts." He flips through the pages and shows you a couple of different photos. One grabs your attention and you stop him. A dirty, bare chested boy in his mid-teens with a long, messy tangle of copper red hair and bright blue eyes, freckles everywhere, and prominent buck teeth. He isn't ugly, but coming close. Still, there is something about him that really appeals to you. "What about this one?"
The barber looks and nods. "Late 1960s hippie, probably living in a nature commune somewhere. Be hard to change that once you get into it. Probably won't be a barber shop in miles."
You nod and grin. "Do it!"
He pulls out a bottle of hair coloring, and squirts it over your crew cut. But as he works it in, your hair not only changes to copper red, but grows out quickly. Your face matures and freckles appear as you become the teenager, and the shop also changes around you. The cars outside on the street become 1970s models, and people's clothing changes. You shift as you mature sexually, and then frown as your shirt vanishes, then your shoes, and then everything - you are sitting naked in the chair! Your skin and hair get dirty, and as the barber tousles your shoulder-length matted hair, you find yourself suddenly sitting in the middle of a forest clearing surrounded by some younger naked children and a variety of animals. Youa re in a nature commune - a young hippie!
