There are bright lights above you. You can feel their heat on your face, the glare reddens the inside of your eyelids as you lie on a hard yet curiously warm surface. You begin to move your hands across the surface you are lying on, keeping your eyes closed for now, your fingertips brush lightly over the flooring feeling a smooth unyielding stone. It's like marble, a mirror finish yet not cold, the heat is pulsing from deep within the stone. It would be cosy if it weren't so hard. You turn your head away from the lights feeling the stone brush your nose and take a deep breath..
Your eyes snap open. The stone is white, completely featureless. You lift your head slowly and realise you're in a perfect cube a few meters square. Looking up at the ceiling reveals nothing, just white light streaming down on you with no apparent source.
A flicker of unease courses through you, the first strong emotion you've felt since waking and with that you surge to your feet.
You are completely naked and now the cube is changing, the wall in front of you suddenly develops a crack in its previously featureless surface and a hatch slides up with a small shelf inside. Resting on the shelf is a pile of underwear. A snort escapes you as you reach out a hand to rummage through the pile, there must be something which fits...
