“Hey Eliot, what’s up?” Jeff answered.
“Hey man, I just wanted to see how your surgery went.” Eliot said. “Wasn’t that last week?”
“Nah, that was scheduled towards the end of this week, but the hospital had to cancel it.” He explained. “Have you been watching the news?”
“Yea...” Eliot replied. “It’s really weird...”
“You’re telling me...” Jeff added. “My doctor didn’t schedule a new date, but I’m not sure I needed one anyway...”
“What do you mean?” Eliot asked.
“Well... The pins just sort of fell out.” Jeff explained. “Within an hour the holes were closed up and I now I can bend my wrist like it was never broken”
“That’s great!” Eliot replied. “I don’t suppose you’ve grown any new parts since it healed up?”
“No, but the neighbor has three arms now...” Jeff said, not quite believing his own words.
“Bull shit...” Eliot replied.
“It’s true... I’ll send pictures.” He insisted. “She’s taking it pretty well. I mean, as well as you might imagine after sprouting a new limb.”
“Mom actually saw it happen. They were both working outside. Mrs. Johnson was pulling weeds out of her garden. I guess she said she felt dizzy, then... It just sort of grew. I think she was more disappointed in the torn shirt than her sudden addition.”
“Yea... I’m gonna need to see your pictures before I believe any of that...” Eliot laughed.
“Oh you’ll get it...” Jeff grinned. “Ah... Becky’s yelling for me... I’ve got to go...”
“Alright; I’ll chat with you later...” Eliot replied...
