Katherine was temporarily blinded when the bright studio lights flashed on to her position. As her sight returned, she realized that she stood alone on the stage, the audience sitting in silence, a silence pregnant with roars and cheers once the game was under way. But for now, Katherine realized, they were sizing her up. Deciding what they wanted her to be by the end of the episode.
Katherine stood at a solid six feet tall, a solid head above the average woman. However, that was the only thing that was out of the ordinary, at least as far as her appearance was concerned. Her face was average, with thin lips, brown eyes, and moderate cheekbones. Her brown hair was cut short, hardly falling past her chin. Her body was completely devoid of curves, her hips as rectangular as her ass. She was kind of like a sardine. Bland, average, and a dime a dozen.
But today was going to change all that. Today she had a chance to win the hundred thousand dollar grand prize. See ya later, student loan debt. Maybe she could quit her job at the grocery store. For that matter, she could probably even begin laying down the foundations of her dream: to start her own business. Katherine had always dreamed of owning a thrift store, specializing in novelty clothes from the sixties. Sure, it was far-fetched. But when you had money, anything was possible.
A loud voice announced its presence over an invisible intercom, magnified by the speakers surrounding the studio. "Hello everyone, and welcome to 'Million Dollar Bimbohhhhh!" The crowd roared as he prolonged the last word of the game's title. "Today's guest is Katherine Williams. She's a cashier at the local Super-Mart, and is currently working on an MBA. Of course, by the time you guys are done with her, maybe she'll be looking for a different line of work..." More cheers from the crowd. "Alright, let's get this show on the road. Andy, are you ready with the wheel?"
The light momentarily turned from its fixed position on Katherine and showered on the new subject of the crowd's affections, Andy. Andy was a smaller guy, with a sharp suit and black sports coat. Behind him stood a wheel, similar to the one from "Wheel of Fortune," but it was standing upright rather than on its back. Each segment of the wheel had a dollar amount on it, but the audience was more interested in the figures on the back. If Katherine should fail a challenge, then the wheel would be spun, but instead of gaining the dollar amount of the selected tile, the tile would be removed and flipped. On its back were categories. Hair, breasts, mental changes, etc. Of course, the audience was allowed to pick the actual change itself, but it had to fall under the category that was picked by Andy's spin of the wheel. And now they were all too ready for his show to get on the road.
"Alright, Katherine. I don't think the audience has any patience left." More booming cheers. "Let's get this show on the road! Andy, what's the first challenge?"
And
