Brian was a wannabe hipster when he found the Little China Shop.
He and a few friends found the shop and thought they might go in for a meal.
Brian, Olivia, Tommy and Bill had a wonderful meal. Pretentiously eating, or rather attempting to eat with chopsticks.
When the end of the meal came and they opened their fortune cookies Brian was the first to read his.
It read: Your life had no direction. Your goals are now set. You become the adult you never would expect.
Not all of the fortunes rhymed but as he completed his fortune he began to change.
His eyes grew older with wrinkles from his squinting. He wore dark heavy framed bifocals. And developed a beard. His clothes changed into a dark blue suit with a white button down and a long red, power tie. His belly shot out of him like a cannon pushing the table into Olivia almost knocking her over. And he could no longer see his knees. He was quite a rotund gentleman now with his life behind him and a life a drudgery ahead of him.
The others looked on at him and feared to look at their fortunes but the cookies had all been cracked open and the fortune would take effect even if they chose not to read them.
