Adam returned to the lounge, and saw that Evelyn was missing. Must be resting somewhere, he thought. I'll let her get some sleep. He continued his work while Evelyn slept.
While Evelyn slept, she had strange dreams. In her dream, everything was getting smaller. At first she thought the world was shrinking around her, but her body felt different, like it was getting stronger and tougher. She then realized she was growing, larger and larger. She dreamed she was getting bigger than houses, then taller than skyscrapers, then taller than mountains. She didn't think she would ever stop growing. She knew she should be worried, but her body just felt so good that it didn't bother her. She was still dreaming of walking through cities with the small people fleeing like frightened ants, when she a heard a voice.
"Hey, hey wake up."
She struggled to stay asleep - she felt so warm under the lamp, and her body felt so good in the dream. But the voice persisted.
"Get up. Get up."
Slowly, she began to wake, though she was still fighting to sleep. Suddenly, she was assaulted by a strong familiar odor, and woke with a start. Opening her eyes, she saw the large snouted face of her nightmares, just inches from her face. She stared with shock, too paralyzed with fear to move, when the jaw moved and she heard the voice again. "Bout time you got up, Sister."
