Brittany rose, and began walking back into the living room. After she entered, she turned left towards her room, rather than right towards the garage.
"Hey, where do you think you're going? , " said Mary, as she quickly raced to her side and took hold of her arm.
"Upstairs to my room. I need some clothes, and these don't fit anymore, " she said, pointing to the large dress on the bathroom floor.
Mary laughed. "Why, Brittany me dear, we are dressed. You are adorned in elegant Chinchilla fur, while I sporting fine Alligator leather."
"You must be joking. We can't go out there like this. People will see and the might think we're freaks, " said Brittany.
Mary turned Brittany until she was facing the mirror, staring at her reflection with Mary behind her. "Look at us, Brittany. We are freaks." She let go of Brittany, and walked into the garage after squeezing through the door. "Besides , who cares if they see us. No one would recognize us anyway. If they want to point and stare, let em. It won't hurt you. Trust me, I know from experience. Now let's go. It's getting late, and I'm starting to get hungry again." Mary actually meant the last part; she wasn't just trying to scare Brittany. Despite devouring a whole pig, she still felt a little hungry. And the hunger seemed to be slowly growing. She idled wondered how much an alligator ate.
Brittany took the hint are rushed to the garage. She saw Mary resting her body on the hood of her small car, her weight lowering the frame close to the ground. "I think we're going to have try something else. There is no way you are going to fit in my car anymore. "
Mary just smiled and pointed one jagged claw towards another car in the corner. Her father's - 1964 convertible Cadillac DeVille. Her father had spent his life restoring it, and it was his most valued possession.
"No way. My dad would kill me. Besides, you can't even fit in there anyway." said Brittany.
Mary walked over to the car nonchalantly, and ripped off the soft top if one pull. She then the opened the passenger door, grabbed the passenger seat firmly, and quickly tore it from the car with the sound of shrieking metal. "I don't think that will problem now, " said Mary as she sat down in the back seat, and stretched her legs to the front. Brittany's jaw dropped. "Get the keys, and let's go, " said Mary harshly. "NOW."
For a while, Brittany just stared at Mary with shock, then slowly she walked back into the house and returned with the keys to the Cadillac. As she walked slowly, she decided that Mary had made sense. It was the only car that would work for them. But she was getting tired of her attitude. And her behavior was becoming more disturbing. She could not get the vision of Mary tearing the pig apart like a savage animal out of her mind. She was beginning to think that she might be better off on her own. Shed decided that if the opportunity rose, she would ditch Mary.
She sat in the drivers seat, and moved the front seat as close as possible to the wheel. She had a little difficulty looking over the wheel so Mary placed some phonebooks beneath her. Luckily, although she was small, her feet were unusually long, and she could still reach the pedals. She started the car and opened the garage.
"And away we go, " said Mary with a laugh, as they pulled out if the garage and traveled into the night.
