You decide to check out the fun house after noticing the flashing lights and the colorful, off kilter decor. You walk up the steps and enter the house. You place the ticket in your pocket and start to walk through the house. You start to think about what the ticket taker told you. Of course it was ridiculous, right? It couldn't be true. You notice a wall in the foyer with paintings of different animals on it with a large painted banner over it announcing, Make Your choice! As you glance over it, your eye lands on a large wolf. Something about that calls out to you as you think that would be cool to be.
You walk through the back curtain at the end of the foyer to find a narrow, metal walkway through a large spiraling cylinder, painted in neon colors illuminated by black lights. As you begin to walk along the walkway, you start to feel off kilter, the bright, spiraling images all around you are throwing you off. But there is something more to this, something even more off about it, something unseen getting at you. You push on, making your way to the other side and through the black curtain at the other side. On the other side you find a hall of mirrors. You slowly make your way through the hall, checking yourself out in each funny mirror. You notice something odd and lean in to inspect. Man, I really need to shave, you think to yourself. And were my incisors always that pronounced? You move on to the next mirror and to your surprise you only look hairier, your teeth sharper and you do a double take as you notice your ears are looking a bit more pointed. You move on to the next one and noticed the changes are even more pronounced. You quickly realize what is happening and run back towards the doorway to exit the fun house. You pull back the black curtain only to discover a solid brick wall with a sign reading: The only way out is forward. You beat on it with your hand when you notice it too has gotten hairier and the nails sharper. It's really happening. You can't believe it but you're slowly turning into a wolf, just like in the picture you saw.
You turn around and start moving through the hall of mirrors again, noticing in each mirror you're becoming hairier, your ears getting more lupine and your teeth changing to fangs. Part of you was exhilarated by the changes but another part of you was terrified. Would you change back when you left or were you stuck like this? By the time you reached the end of the hall of mirrors you had to smirk. You looked like the wolf man, and you had to admit you kind of liked it. The thick fur, the sharp fangs and claws. The lupine nose and the dazzling amber eyes. You take one more look at yourself and then walk through the next black curtain.
As you emerge on the other side, you find yourself greeted with a large wrought iron spiral staircase. You begin to climb the staircase up towards the second level. With each step you feel the changes progress. Your feet stretch and reform into digitigrade paws with your shoes and socks falling away. You felt the back of your shirt rip down the middle as your back muscles grew and reformed. Upon reaching the top you find a short hallway with an opening to the top of a shiny metal slide.
"Here goes," you growl as you run towards the slide and jump into it.
As you slide down it, you see all sorts of flashing colorful lights as you feel the transformation continue. You watch your hands reform into forepaws as your face stretches out into a lupine snout and a tail grow out. You slide out at the bottom and land safely on the padded floor on all four legs, a newly transformed if larger than average wolf. One of the attendees kneeled down next to you and gave to a good scratching behind the neck that felt good.
"Hey there buddy, how was that huh? Did you enjoy that?" he asked. You begin to pant, enjoying the attention. "Enjoy the rest of your stay and don't worry, you'll change back once you leave."
Well, that's a load off my shoulders, you think to yourself as you walk back into the park, trying to get used to walking on four legs. The real question was where to go next.
