John lay back in his beanbag chair as it slowly massages his back. This is highly amusing to him because his transformed roomate was highly macho and is now a bright pink beanbag chair that massage whomever sits in it. It was a good thing that he could hang out at magical university where nobody thought that this kind of stuff was odd.
Unknown to John the janitor had begun to suspect something odd was going on after he noticed the magical auras that so many objects that in his dorm room had. Not that it might be odd, but they were all so strong. At this moment he was taking his suspicions to one of the deans.
Then dean brushed off the idea, but mainly so that the oddball janitor would leave him alone. This observation did in fact interest him. From what he knew of John he didn't have enough control or money to have that much magic on at once. If he was managing to steal magic, that would be explain what was going on. Transformation magic hadn't even occured to him. He decides to have John occupied elsewhere on campus so that he can investigate his room.
Later that week the dean snuck into empty room, and was simply shocked at all of the magic locked into the various odds and ends. John was either a genius, or dealing with the black arts. The dean could already see his promotion, and a commendation for discovering this. Unfortuneatly for him as he looks around for evidence he discover the little brown book. He opens it and is unimpressed by the humanoid wooden maniquin that appears. He is a little more impressed, as he is quickly transformed into . . .
