Nate made haste getting to Chinatown, often glancing back looking for pursuers.
The streets in Chinatown were packed with little shops on both sides of the street.
Near the shop, Nate began to walk more behind them to stay out of sight more. Looking around carefully, he then slinked into the shop.
Inside Nate took of his cap and made his way to the counter. He was greeted by Mr.Tao who came from the back.
“Ah, Mr.Cole” Mr.Tao said. “Here for the regular I presume?”
“Yes, here for the regular, unfortunately” Nate answered disheartened, as the shopkeeper shuffled back into the back room.
“Come, come. Not so pessimistic” came as a response from the back room. Moments later Mr. Tao reappeared with an in brown paper wrapped package.
“You’re young. You should enjoy life”
“Easy for you to say, you’re not the one with the problem” Nate replied.
“Young man, if you experienced half what I have experienced in my life, you’d be glad only having your little inconvenience. I have informed all my relatives and we are working on finding a more permanent solution for you. We have already made progress on the formula, you know.”
Yes, the formula. That was why Nate was here. Glad there was the formula. And indeed, progress was been made a few years ago.
