Les had chased Cindy, but as her body continued to change, Cindy quickly outran her. Although she was stronger, Cindy grew taller and gained a much longer stride. As Cindy turned a corner in the hallway, Les lost sight of her. When she reached the intersection, Les saw three potential paths, and realized that she had no idea which way Cindy had gone.
While she was still looking, she ran into Brittany. Brittany proceeded tear her a new one, yelling and screaming at her for failing. Les really wanted to use her new strength to punch her; she was getting tired of Brittany ordering her around like a slave or something. But even with new strength, she was still a little intimidated by her. Brittany was still much taller than her, and she felt inferior. So she tolerated the abuse begrudgingly.
Brittany finally stopped berating her and gave her new orders. Brit wanted her to go back to the freak and guard him. She was afraid he might wake up, and get away. Or that somebody else might find him. So, Les did what she was told and ran back to the locker room while Brittany continued the search for Cindy.
