After the two got back home, Katie wished herself back to being 12. Being sixteen was fine, but she didn't want to completely lose out on her childhood. Which brought her to thinking about Kelly. Her mom's attitude had changed now that she herself was sixteen, and not for the better. She rolled her eyes and treated Katie like an annoying little sister whenever she was young like this now. She was more interested in boys and looking hot and sexy than anything else.
Katie was used to her mother being a loving but sometimes overbearing mother, so seeing her act like a petulant teenager was odd. She didn't know if she liked it.
"Maybe it would be better if we were the same age, and we were best friends instead." Katie thought aloud. She decided to be careful with the wish. "Might as well give it a try. I wish that kelly was my 12 year old best friend in the whole wide world!"
Katie was confident this would make her Mom more to her style. She tiptoed back downstairs just in time to see her mom shrinking in her clothes. As puberty hit in reverse, Kelly's breasts flattened to her chest and freckles dotted her face. Katie was astonished how much like herself she looked, in fact, they could have been twin sisters. As the change finished, Kelly blinked and saw katie, then grinned.
"Ok Kat! This dumb dare you made me do is over! Can I go back to wearing normal clothes?"
"What?" katie asked, then realized that the magic had adjusted her Mother's memories to suit her new status. "Oh uhm, sure...come on upstairs."
"Cool! Not every day we get to have a sleepover without any grown up supervision. This will be fun!" Kelly exclaimed.
