After Amy jogged around the corner, Tad sighed with smile on his face.
He was brought back into reality when he heard his mom call for him.
"Coming!," he said, walking across the street.
"Well," his mom said, smiling, "How'd it go?"
"Her name is Amy," he said, "She said that she would come over again today after school to help unpack."
"Oh!," Jen exclaimed, "Well isn't she nice! Anyway, we need to start unpacking. The movers have gotten your bed, dresser, and TV into your room. Here's a few of your things."
She handed him a few boxes with the words "Tad's Stuff" written on it in sharpie.
He took the stuff and walked into the house.
The house was much larger than he expected it to be, with a large living room and kitchen. A dining room was right across from the kitchen, and from the looks of things, their backyard had a pool!
At the top of the stairs was a long hallway, with a bathroom and a small closet immediately at the top. Farther down the hall was the master bedroom, where his mom would sleep, the guest room, and his room.
Opening the door, Tad was presented with a room much larger than he had envisioned it to be. "This is incredible," he said, smiling as he set some boxes down, "But as incredible as this room is, I can't wait until when this day gets even better.
The day couldn't have gone by slower as Tad waited for when the high school let out. He couldn't wait to see Amy again.
Soon enough, the doorbell rang.
Eagerly, Tad rushed downstairs to get the door.
He opened it to find Amy standing there, smiling.
"Amy! Hi!," he exclaimed, "Welcome to our new home!"
"Tad, who is it?," his mom yelled from the backyard.
"It's just Amy mom!," he yelled back, "She came to help unpack a bit, remember?"
"Okay!," Jen yelled back.
Tad smiled as he led his friend into the living room to help unpack some things in there.
"Thanks again for coming over," he said, "I'm really glad I've got a friend here already."
