Tad led Amy up to his bedroom within the Decker's new house.
"Nice," she said, taking in all the boxes and other clutter. "I see we have the same taste in housekeepers," she joked.
"I had to help my mom set up things downstairs most of the day, including her home office," explained Tad.
"Oh. Are you into electronics?"
"Computers. After I graduate high school, I hope Moon Lake's college system has a good technical program. Otherwise, I may have to transfer out of town, if not out of state."
"It does," confirmed Amy. "I've already applied to start my education there next fall after graduation."
"Really?" he asked, staring at the red head before him in a whole new light. "Any particular field you want to enter?"
"I'm leaning towards being able to create computer generated graphics, but I also want to be able to keep my own system up and running as much as possible too, so I'll definitely take a few courses in that area as well."
"I know what you mean," agreed Tad. "Whenever my system is down, it seems like forever before I'm back on again, and sometimes those tech repair guys want to charge you an arm and a leg when, if you knew what was wrong with it to begin with, you could of fixed the problem yourself for far less."
"So, where is your system?" asked Amy, looking around, but only seeing an empty desk in one corner of Tad's room.
"Mom said I had to have the rest of my room cleaned and organized first before she'll let me have those boxes. Otherwise, I'd be working on it the rest of the day and wouldn't even be able to find the bathroom in all this mess," he replied.
"I know the feeling. Sometimes I think the Internet is the greatest resource in modern history, and other times it seems like such a time hog. You log on and before you know it, several hours seem to have passed in the blink of an eye," observed Amy. "Well, we better get to work or you'll never have your computer, and I'm looking forward to being able to chat online with you once you're up and running."
With that, the two 18 year old high school seniors began tackling the mess in Tad's bedroom.
As they worked, they talked, finding out that despite having lived so far apart over the years, that they actually had a lot more in common than just being werewolves.
While Tad was working on unpacking a box of action figures and other collectibles he acquired over the years, he heard Amy exclaim, "Oh my!"
Wondering what was up, he turned around and saw that the box Amy had opened contained his underwear, for she was holding up a pair of his briefs.
"Actual size?" she asked with a smile, noticing that Tad was blushing.
"Maybe I'd better take care of that box later," was his only reply.
As he grabbed the box and turned to set it by his dresser, Amy took a closer look at Tad. Several inches taller than her, he was definitely more muscular than she first thought, although in a more ripped/toned way than musclebound; and wondered what he looked like as a werewolf.
About 5:30, his mother came up and asked if Amy would be staying for dinner.
"Personally, I'd love to, but my folks are expecting me home for dinner. Besides, I still have my own unpacking to do."
"Oh?" asked Jen Decker. "I didn't know another were family moved into Moon Lake too."
"Actually, we've been here for years. Just relocated from an apartment into our first house," explained Amy.
"Well, you're welcome here any time Amy," replied Jen, seeing how her son was eyeing the girl when Amy wasn't looking. "And Tad, after Amy leaves, I'll need your help in the kitchen."
"Okay mom," he replied, as Jen Decker left his room.
Amy stayed long enough to finish the box she was working on, and then walked over to Tad's desk, where she started writing a lot of information on a notepad.
"There we are," she said, setting the pen down while turning to face Tad. "That's all the contact information for Austin, to talk to him about joining our pack; Samantha and Frances Twist, so your mom has some fellow werecats to hang out with; and everything you might ever need to know about me." Amy was unaware that Jen and Samantha were old friends from before the Deckers left Moon Lake.
Then Amy walked right up to Tad and said, "See you in school tomorrow big boy," before giving him a kiss on the cheek. With that she turned and left.
Tad walked over and looked at the notepad.
The first page was just as Amy promised, with the contact info for his potential new pack leader and the werecats.
The second page was all in regards to her.
At first it was just name, new address, cellphone number, and Internet contact info.
Then underneath that, Amy had written her measurements both as a human and a werewolf, followed by a personal note.
"Hope this isn't too pushy, but I think you're cute. Would love to see you again, especially for a howling good time. Don't worry, I'm on the pill.—Amy."
Tad felt stirrings he was unfamiliar with and couldn't quite explain as he carefully tore off the second sheet from the notepad and stuck in his desk drawer, for his mom would only ever see the top sheet.
