Beth & Sue at the Carnival.
They strolled off and went round the campsite clockwise and were almost back to where they started, they walked through some bushes, and immediately felt themselves being pulled forward rapidly, and tumbled over and over on the ground. When they got to their feet they realised they were no longer near the campsite, otherwise they would have heard the carnival and funfair that was in full swing before them.
Their clothes had changed. Beth was now wearing a grey suit and Sue was dressed in a school uniform. They found themselves in the queue to enter the site. There was something strange about the people in the queue but they couldn’t quite work out what it was, but didn’t think it strange that some had furry faces. Others were dressed in fancy dress costumes, clown outfits, some as animals. There were even goblins and elves.
Beth found that she was holding two ‘Special Entry’ tickets, so they got in free but they were stamped on the back of their hands and also had wristbands fitted before they were allowed in. The steward, as he fitted their wristbands, laughingly said; “These, ‘Are your ‘Get Out Of Jail Free’ bands, so guard them with your life.”
They walked along trying to sort out in their muddled minds as to what had happened to them, and how they were to find their way back to…. Where had they come from? Just what had they been doing before the CARNIVAL?
