To your surprise, the nurse said that you didn't need to do anything special while she accompanied you to the room dedicated to SoulBranding. That was another surprising thing to you, the hospital having a room used only for SoulBranding.
While you were walling toward the room, she explained that you would be alone with Emily, who would be in a special dress. You would have to undress, sit in front of her and close your eyes. Then, your friend would place her hand in a bowl of powder before applying said powder where you wanted the mark. Then, she would add water in the bowl, mixing the two until the powder had dissolved, then splash you over your future SoulBrand with the resulting potion. Thanks to the magical propriety of the mix, you could dress right after, not even being wet.
When Emily asked you where you wanted your SoulBrand, you answered "I trust you to choose the best place". You sensed her apply the powder on your right cheek, then adding a touch to you right eyelid. Then she splashed you with the mix. It felt strange, being splashed without becoming wet.
Looking at a nearby mirror, you saw what looked like some abstract drawing on your cheek, completed by what looked like a cat's eye on top of your right eyelid. To you, those markings didn't look any different form a tattoo, but Emily assured you that anyone touching it would make it glow, as long as they have a soul of their own. “The powder it's made with glow when touched by two souls or more.”
While you where dressing-up, Emily washed her hands. For a brief instant, an eye similar to the one drawn on your eyelid appeared on her palm, but since she was using clean water, it disappeared before anyone noticed it.
