A velvet black expanse fills the space before John as her feet come down onto cool metal plates. Her mouth hangs slightly open, chest rising and falling as she breathes and takes in the vast field of winking diamonds stretched out before her. Her hand reaches out, fingers brushing a transparent barrier of some kind as she stares in disbelief at the sight.
"Holy shit," she breathes shaking her head slightly, copper curls fluttering around her as she does. "Where the hell am I." There is a sudden loud tone, a dinging noise and she jerks backwards as a warm feminine voice speaks up, "You are currently on the primary observation deck of Station Zero, Mrs. Smith." John turns, casting around, looking for the source of the voice and seeing that she stands at the front of a great curving bubble that looks out into space, a wall about thirty feet away bearing a heavy door. "Station...Zero? I thought I was in Subspace?"
This is greeted by a slight buzzing in John's head and the sensation of a stern man speaking in her ear, "Please, keep all Oh Oh See chatter to Oh Oh See areas." John blinks and laughs, "You have got to be kidding me. Fucking nerds." Neither voice responds as she moves forward over the deck, grabbing a seat, "Alright, disembodied voice, is there some way I can get up to speed on this place?" The female voice speaks first, "Certainly Mrs. Smith, we can..." it is overridden however by the male voice inside her head, "As a new arrival, we can deliver a subspace packet of memories and information to get you up to speed on this setting. Or if you want to build a full character, just head to the O.O.C. area and the helper intelligences can walk you through the routines needed to make whatever you want."
John shakes his head, leaning back and considering her options before making her decision.
