Finding that the dice had landed on a collective 7, Cathy took a breath, then moved her piece along the track. She was incredibly nervous, and somewhat justifiably so, to the point that she didn't even want to look at what kind of space her piece had stopped on. However, she knew she didn't really have a choice; so taking another breath, she let her gaze slowly move down to the board again.
An Effect Card. Well what was that meant to do? All of the other card types had some form of definitive category that their contents fell into; but the Effect Card's name didn't make it clear. Taking yet another breath, she turned it over in her hand, and read it aloud.
"From now on, every time someone rolls a 7, they and another player's ages will be switched. Starting with you, right now." Cathy paled a little, looking at the others, "Guys, i'm so sorr-" she began, but was cut off as an odd feeling overtook her. It wasn't pleasant, yet wasn't unpleasant at the same time. When she finally got her bearings, the feeling fading away, everything seemed taller. Seeing as the eyes on her, Cathy looked around to see who she had switched with. Eventually, her eyes fell on a girl in her mid teens sitting where the formerly 10-year old Megan had been moments earlier. She seemed to be nervously cupping her now semi-developed 15-year old breasts. The new Megan looked over at the now 10-year old Cathy and smiled weakly.
"I'll... uh, look after them for you, okay?"
Cathy nodded at this, unsure of what exactly to make of the whole situation. But all of that would have to wait, as it was now Alex's turn, and all of them dreaded what making the game wait would do. Nervously, the only player who hadn't yet rolled picked up the dice and tried his luck, dreading what was to come.
