As noble as the transformed spiders plan to help Christina the common fly was, it was always doomed to failure. The witch was far too perceptive and smart to be easily fooled and the longer the spider went without even injecting venom into his prey, the greater her suspicions became. And she did not take kindly to lesser mortals attempts to trick her.
"I think it's about time you two bugs ended this little charade and came down from there" she announced eventually, waving her hand in the direction of the ceiling and soon two very naked, nervous looking humans were facing each other, and a very angry sorceress, on the floor.
Christina briefly locked eyes with the ex-spider opposite her. He was a very handsome, athletic looking man with wavy blonde hair and almost aristocratic features.
"Well, well Giles, trying to trick me again eh?" the witch addressed the man menacingly "It was that kind of deception that got you transformed before. And for what? Your princess here?"
The witch gestured at Christina who quickly shrank down into the form of a rather ordinary looking frog. Giles tried not to show his fear, knowing the witch well enough to realise what was coming next.
"Let's see if your friend is as considerate of you when you become the hunter" and with that, Giles was a spider again. The witch squatted down next to Christina the frog and addressed her in an almost sympathetic manner.
"What are you waiting for, dinner time!"
Christina sat still, unwilling to eat the man who had just saved her,
"Vey well" the witch laughed unphased, having anticipated this defiance "I will leave you two like that for now, but if you do me a favour eat that pest I might just decide to restore you to your pretty self and let you go, and if you continue displease me you might find your situation becomes even less favourable.
