Alex took several breaths as he watched the dice spin. Why had he brought this game? It was terrifying wondering what would happen next and not being able to stop playing. After seeing his sister lose age and then subsequently gain age, seeing his girlfriend give his best friend gas, seeing his house get replaced by a nursery and then finally watching another good friend get turned into a little kid- Well, if the prove hadn't been physical, Alex would think he was seeing things.
Glancing down, Alex saw that the dice had landed on a six, which as he moved them forwards, he found landed him on the same spot that Mark had landed on, giving him an open choice of cards. Like some others before him, Alex didn't really want to choose, so swiped at random, finding that he'd picked up an Time Card, much like Cathy had.
"It may be your first turn, but so far you're the most mature person here." Alex somehow didn't like where this was going, but he continued reading anyway, "So any time someone rolls a 6, you will get a year older, starting now. Maybe you can be a good example to the others." Alex felt a weird wave of... something, wash over his body. He gained a little height and became slightly more muscular. To everyone else's eyes, he now looked 17 years of age.
"Well that was..." Mark frowned, in awe that his friend was now older than him.
"This is getting weird." Alex shook his head, "Why don't we just ignore this and move on." he looked to the now teenage Megan, "It's your turn again, I think."
Megan nodded reluctantly before picking up and tossing the dice for her second turn.
7. Megan gaped. "Oh god, not again." Immediately, she felt weird sensations overtake her. She felt her breasts grow slightly and her height increase. She looked only a little more developed. Frantically, she glanced around to see who she had switched with. The answer was next to her, as she laid her eyes on a slightly younger looking Stella, who was frowning heavily.
"Well this is-
"Yeah, it is." Stella shook her head, "At least 15 and 16 aren't too far apart though." This was true, as Megan's now 16 year old body and Stella's now 15 year old body weren't that different than they had been before, bar being slightly further forward or backward in terms of development, "And you haven't even had your turn yet either."
This was true, so Megan reluctantly moved her purple piece along the board, finding that it had landed on a space for.... a blank. Megan let out an audible sigh of relief. "Oh thank god."
Stella looked a little jealous of this good luck, but didn't let that get to her. She wanted done with the game as quickly as possible, so scooped up the dice the moment Megan ended her turn, rolling them across the board without even speaking a word.
Another 12.
"Oh come on!" Alex looked annoyed, "Whatever you do, please don't defer this one on me, again."
"Fine, fine..." Stella looked over at Megan, "Is that alright?" Megan just shrugged, apparently fine, given that she was spared last turn.
Moving her blue piece forwards, Stella saw that she had stopped on the space indicating that she had to pick up an Effect Card. Lifting one off the pile, she took a deep breath, then read aloud.
"As age seems to be superfluous in this group, why don't we follow the trend." Stella grimaced, seeing what the rest of the card read, "Uh... Starting with you, everyone who rolls will lose a year of age in their turn until someone rolls a 12 again." she looked around at everyone, "I- i'm sorry..."
"It's fine," Megan, who shuddered as she suddenly lost the year of age she'd gained only moments earlier, making her 15 again, "It's not your fault." Stella smiled at this, thankful for the reassurance.
"Well, seeing as this game apparently has no breaks, let's go on..." Mark said, picking up the dice somewhat reluctantly, rolling again, to his doom. Before he'd even looked at the result, he felt a year drain away...
