Susie led the way along a new path, and found herself against a glass wall, where she could see out into the back room of the shop. Gazing out, she could see a shaft of sunlight coming through from the front of the shop. Some memories stirred in her; I used to be able to walk and bask in the real sunshine. I wish that I could do that again, she thought; not realising her partner alongside her who was also looking out, had hooked her claws through the almost invisible wristband on Suzie’s foreleg.
In the blink of an eye, or their case, four eyes. They were holding hands and standing outside the Pet shop, wearing sandals, thongs, white shirts and light green skirts and both had on their wristbands; the same as their cousin Bethany. Although until a time when Bethany would meet them she would not remember anything about them. Nor would they remember her.
Susie said to her twin sister, Trixie, Isn’t it lovely being out in the sunshine. Trixie replied, it’s great but with our blonde hair and fair skin, we should get sunhats and see if we can buy some sunscreen.
They saw the hat shop, so wandered in chatting like a couple of schoolgirls on holiday. Which they now of course, thought they were. After trying on quite a few sunhats, and posing in front of the mirrors, they chose a matching pair and paid with the credit cards they found in their skirt pockets.
Now we need some sun cream. Ah! There’s a shop. In they go.
Susie said, Look, There are some funny names to the creams.
