When Ty was walking down the street Mei was slowly walking on all four right next to him. Ty snipped his fingers and made her legs shorter to make it easier for her to move and not being forced down to her knees all the time. Yeah .. that was better.
"Oh, hello Ty!". It was Mrs. Taylor from down the road. "Are you walking your dog?"
"Oh, hello Mrs. Taylor. Yes, I do. The weather is so nice today. Have you been shopping?" Ty replied.
"I just went to the co-op at the corner. I actually forgot to buy some milk, even though I was at the mall earlier on today."
While they were talking Mei came close to Mrs. Taylor, sniffing at her leg. Mrs. Taylor bent slightly down and fondled Mei behind her ear. "Your dog is such a cutie!" She said and as if she understood her, Mei sat down and happily looked at Mrs. Taylor. "Thats a good girl! Thats a good girl!" Mrs. Taylor said, cuddling Mei who was clearly enjoying it. "Well, I gotta go or else Mei will be yelping all day to get out!" Ty said, taking his leave.
"That was funny!" Ty thought ... Mei had been treated like any ordinary dog and she also behaved that way. Ty kept walking down the street. There was a park nearby with a special corner for dogs. There was a field that was secured by a fence so people could let their dogs run freely, which was not allowed on the street or in the rest of the park. It was only a ten minutes walk, but Ty had to stop then and again because Mei had picked up a smell somewhere or sniffed at every tree or street-corner they were passing by and on some of them she left her mark, weed against a tree here or a pole there. She had completely gotten into her life as a dog now.
Eventually they made it to the park, they found the corner for dogs and they entered. There were already a number of people letting their dogs run around freely and socialise as did the owners, who were either standing together in small flocks, observing their dogs andchatting away, or sitting on a bench and exchanging the latest intel about their dogs or their life as a dog-owner. In the meantime the dogs were all joy, running around and playing with each other. When Ty and Mei arrived there were already a German Sheperd, a Dobermann, a Yorkshire Terrier, a Cocker Spaniel and a Bobtail running around, as well as a Golden Retriever and two medium-sized dogs who did not seem to belong to any of the established races known to Ty.
Some people turned around, greeting Ty and observing how he undid the leach and let Mei run around freely. She immediately ran to the other dogs and they began sniffing at each other and soon she was running around, hunted by the Sheperd and the Dobermann, whilst the Bobtail and the Terrier tried to catch up but lost miserably to the big dogs. Ty joined the group of dog-owners who had been gathering next to the exit and joined in on the conversation.
