Hasso was a five-year old German Sheperd. It was a good age for a dog. One might take him for a mature dog, but he was still playful and young in mind, but yet, knew his strength and position in the ever changing pack of the fenced dog area and he sure stood up for his cause if there was need. He already had gotten into a fight with the Dobermann, who was as tall and strong as himself, but apart from that there was no trouble with any of the other dogs. They knew, he could dominate them any time he wanted. With the Dobermann he had come to some kind of understanding. Each of them would be alpha rude when alone, but they would have a ceasefire any time they were on the playground together.
This was such a day and since they had agreed on those terms of power the fenced dog area had become quite peaceful and all were getting along quite well. One author on dog-training once said, its not as important for a dog whether hes on a higher or a lower rank in the pack. Important is that the dog knows his position in the pack, because no matter what rank he has: stability, social stability is everything! Hasso wouldn't know, he did not read books on dog-education. For God's sake: he was a dog, what did he care about reading? But if one would have been able to point it out to him and explain the words of the author he would most definitely have agreed to them. Pack rules were natural for dogs, they didn't need fancy books to explain. Only those tiny puppy dogs who had been treated like human children or babies, pampered all the time, they did often forget that they were actual dogs and they were running into a hell lotta trouble when meeting up with other dogs. The Yorkshire Terrier was such a case. It took some time to "educate" her and she had to learn her lesson the hard way.
On that very day weather was clear, the grass was dry and the pack was back together again. Just another day for playing and idle lazing in the sun. Some sniffing around, some hunt your own tail or hunt the tail of others! That was the plan Hasso had laid out for the day. But as it happened this beautiful day took another twist. Hasso was just playing with Twipsy, a good-natured Bobtail with an embarassing ribbon on her head, when two newcomers entered the scene. A young human with a new dog ... a dog? ... That couldn't be right. He took a closer look at her and Twipsy too, realizing that he stopped playing, turned her head to eye the newcomer.
The new one was on all four, she was on a leash like a dog, but something felt off. The young human took off the leash and the new one came running up to the pack. "That can't be!" Harro whispered... "Its a human! A human woman on all four!"
"How is that possible?" Twipsy was yelping. They could not make either head or tail of it, but now it was too late anyway. The newcomer came up to them, yelping in delight and starting to sniff around, first sniffing the ground, then approaching Twipsy who drew back, throwing Hasso a look. "Whats going on? What is this?"
Hasso didn't know. This was so odd. He started to approach the newcomer, sniffing at her behind. Was she in heat? How was that even possible. She clearly was a human! A human girl, why would he care whether she was in heat or not? Now the other dogs were assembling, curiously sniffing Mei up and trying to figure out what was going on and why there was this human girl acting like a dog and even barking and yelping. It was all gibberish to the others, after all, Mei might have been convinced she was a dog, alas: she had never learned how to speak like a dog and therefore all her barking and yelping made no sense to the others.
