"You.... you knew about this? All this time, " you say softly.
Amy flushes red, and looks away. "No! Of course not," denies Amy.
You crawl over to her, brandishing the keys in front of her face. "Then how do you explain this, ending up in there," you say, pointing at the nest.
"I don't know, " she says, staring a the ground. "Maybe a bird ...."
"Maybe a bird, " you say indignantly. "Well, whatever. It doesn't matter. This ends today. Now I can go home. "
You begin to fiddle with the keys. Amy runs up to you, and places her hands on the key pad, trying to stop you.
"Wait, Sam! Let's think about this. Are you sure you want to go back? I mean, you have it pretty good here. What have you got waiting for you back there, in the human world? Stay with me, please?" begs Amy.
You pull the key away. "I knew it! You just wanted to keep me here!" you say. You begin to fiddle with the key again.
"No, Sam, it's not like that. Let me just explain. Before you do anything, just hear me out, " says Amy, as she runs over to you and tries to pull the key out of your grip.
You and Amy struggle over the keys. Eventually, you both start to fall, and you both let go of the keys at the same time to steady yourselves. The key drops and key fob hits the ground with a sickening crinkle. You both stare at the keys in shock. Could they be broken? Amy is the first to recover, and runs down the tree like a shot. You follow after her, but Amy reaches them first. She yelps as she touches the key, and get a big shock from the key fob.
She begins to change quickly. She rapidly grows taller, stretching to roughly 3 feet tall. Her digits stretch into long thin fingers, still ending in claws. Her feet stretch longer, too. They still end in clawed toes, with her big toe acting as a dew claw. But she can now easily stand on the balls of her feet. Her belly shrinks to a flat stomach. Her waist narrows as her hip become wider. Her breasts swell to a B cup, and short blonde hair sprouts on her head. Her muzzle shrinks, and her face begins to look more human. You expect the changes to continue, but they abruptly stop almost as quickly as they began. It leaves Amy as some sort of hybrid of human and squirrel, an anthro-squirrel. Amy stares at her changed body in shock. She pulls her long fluffy tail in front of her with her new dexterous hands, and begins to nervously run her fingers through the fluffy fur.
Taking advantage of Amy's shock, you run over to the key fob. But it is cold in your little claws. There is no spark left, and whatever magic they held is now gone.
You feel yourself rising quickly, as Amy picks you up off the ground. She holds you in the palm of her hand, with the key in the other. She looks at the key, feeling it cold and devoid of power. She brings you and her palm up to her face. You can see her almond colored eyes and large front teeth.
"Well, well, my little friend. It looks like someone is going to be a squirrel a little longer than they hoped, " says Amy with a smile.
