Not knowing about the impending storm, for no one had yet to contact Evan Lawson about the new threat Jeremiah Bower, Senior posed; he had a nice, friendly, and totally stress free lunch with his daughter Spencer and her new boyfriend Eric Anderson.
Evan opened up and told a few stories of Spencer as a kid, although his wife had to do most of the child raising because of his military activities. Eric would swear that, if she wasn't in her hybrid were form to help the healing process go faster after her recent encounter with Jeremy Bower (Junior), his girlfriend would actually be blushing, which he thought was kind of cute.
"...so there Maggie and I are, sitting at a picnic table as Spencer is petting this skunk, and wondering why it hadn't changed back to its human form yet so the two of them could go play on the see-saw together."
"In my defense, I was only four at the time," said his daughter.
"And I bet you were a cute four year old too," said Eric, smiling at his girlfriend.
"That she was. Thankfully she gets her good looks from her mother," replied Evan, complimenting Spencer, to which Eric could actually see a smile on her muzzle over that.
"If you gentlemen will excuse me for a bit," said Spencer, before leaving the table and running upstairs.
Alone, the guys talked while Eric helped Mister Lawson clean up from lunch. "This is definitely a new Spencer I'm seeing," replied Evan, "and I suspect you have something to do with it young man."
"I'm just being myself and in love with Spencer," admitted Eric, feeling himself blush a bit now.
"Well, I sincerely hope things work out for both of you. If you haven't realized it yet, Spencer's fallen in love with you too." Now if Eric can only decide what kind of were to become.
"I know," said Eric with a smile.
"You treat her right and we'll get along just fine. If not..." then, despite still being in his human form, Evan Lawson issued a low, menacing werewolf growl.
"Don't worry. I will sir. I will!"
"Good," said Evan with a smile. Then he lowered his voice and asked, "Did you finish with that folder I loaned you?"
"It's in the bottom of my travel bag."
"Good. If you don't mind, I'll get it before I leave and put it back with the rest of our records. But if I can ask, what did you think?"
"That bastard's lucky to still be alive!" complained Eric, hoping Mister Lawson didn't notice or comment about his Batman underwear.
"We're definitely in agreement on that," said Evan with a smile. "It's my wife's idea, but I'm still not too crazy about Spencer needing a shrink though."
"If it helps, I can't see the harm. My quandary is I'm not sure why Mrs. Lawson's asked me to accompany Spencer, at least on the first visit," began Eric. "But I can tell you that Frances Twist is a good person, as well as being a nice next door neighbor."
Whatever Mister Lawson would have said next was lost as they heard Spencer coming back downstairs.
As Evan went back upstairs to get ready, Spencer and Eric sat next to each other on the couch as she turned on the TV and started flipping through channels with the remote in her left paw, since her right arm was still in a sling.
"Okay. Thanks for keeping her company while I'm gone Eric, because with everything that's happened of late, we just didn't want to leave Spencer alone right now," said Evan as he came back downstairs a couple of minutes later. "Now then you two. Try to have some fun, but keep it clean. I don't have an ETA on your mother Spencer, but I should be back around midnight."
"Okay dad. Have fun, and Semper Fi!" said his daughter.
"Wrong branch, but thanks," said Mister Lawson, kissing the top of his daughter's furry head before walking out the door.
Spencer got up and watched her father get in his car. "At least he didn't call you a babysitter," she said, once the car door was closed.
"I'd want to be with you no matter what," began Eric, watching his girlfriend's tail wag at the thought of him again, "but you do have to admit things would have been kind of difficult going solo with you still on the DL," using the sports slang for the disabled list.
"Yeah. It still twinges at times as it is," admitted Spencer, as she watched her father drive off.
Spencer sat back down, with her good side toward Eric.
"Now then, I'm glad he's gone handsome," she said with a smile on her muzzle, before Spencer started passionately kissing her boyfriend.
Eric eagerly returned her attention.
Soon, the young lovers were lost in each other and the moment. Eric loved being with Spencer, and wanted the feeling to continue forever, but was totally surprised when Spencer pulled away when he started fondling her breasts through her over sized sweat shirt.
"Did I do something wrong?" asked Eric, hoping he didn't offend her.
"No. Your technique was great," replied Spencer, hoping she sounded positive.
"Too soon?"
"Kind of. Only in regards to the fact that..."
"I'm still both a virgin, and a normal. A killer combination in Moon Lake," he said sarcastically.
"I'm certainly more than willing to cure you of the virginity issue," she said with a big smile on her muzzle, "but until we can work out the other matter..."
"I know. I know," said Eric, his mood quickly souring as he sat on the couch away from Spencer.
