Scared by all the strange things going on, Mike spun and galloped off to the far side of the pasture. As with the road, he was forced to stop before he got within ten feet of the woods. His sudden bolt had caused the other mares to scatter and run around a little, and they snorted and kicked up their hind legs.
There was a large pond in this corner, and he leaned over it to see his reflection. The thing looking back at him was more horse than human, at least at first glance. Still a centaur, if a very hairy and ugly one. His face was pushed out into something like a small muzzle, and his eyes were huge and brown under jutting brows. His teeth looked larger and flatter, and his whole head seemed oversized for the human neck and body. It would look so much better with a full muzzle and the sleek black hide.... Mike frowned. The mares were beautiful, and the powerful sculpted features of a stallion would be much better than this, but he didn't want a horse's head. It would look strange on a centaur's neck and chest. Though, if he had a horse's neck it would be fine.
A brown Shire mare ambled close. This one was younger than the first, slightly smaller but still huge and powerful. And also in heat. His nostrils flared, drinking in her scent. No! Another mating would change him more, and he did not want that. Did he? This was just a game. right? A very realistic game, but still... Tye would be able to fix anything that happened. Mike was torn between curiosity and fear. If he gave in, he'd probably become a horse. A magnificent Shire stallion. But still an animal. Was that a bad thing?
