At the petting zoo, a strapping young giant of a man came up to greet Kayla.
"So this time you brought us a goat? He's a shaggy one. The kids will get a kick out of watching me shear him, and showing them how to card the wool and make yarn."
"Baa!" shrieked James. Wait, he couldn't speak anymore.
Kayla grinned, and said, "I'm sure that will be fine Billy."
"Hey, boy, we're going to be best buds," Billy said taking the rope.
"His name is Jimmy," Kayla called.
"Baa!" bleated James.
"Come on, James," said Billy.
James looked up at Billy, did he understand him?
"No, James, I don't speak goat anymore. But I could tell from the reaction that you didn't like being called Jimmy. Everyone around here except Kayla calls me William. I used to be the goat here, but she caught old Jack torturing me for fun. Now he's an ass, and I'm the human who got his old job. I bet you must be hot under all that wool."
"Baa!"
William just pulled on the rope, and James followed.
About an hour after being penned up in a stall in the barn, William returned with a dozen kids in tow. The big guy sat down on a stool inside the stall, and grabbed James. There was the whir of an electric shear and tufts of James' wool wafted to the floor. He kept thinking William would stop, but he kept going. He even shaved Jame's crotch and tail. Soon the empty burlap bags were full.
"Three bags full?" asked one of the children.
"Looks like it!"
"But he's not a sheep!"
"We get wool from both goats and sheep. James is a cashmere goat. Do you or your parents have cashmere sweaters? The wool came from a goat like James."
James was sulking and shivering a bit in the corner. He had never felt more naked. He hoped the magic would wear off soon.
A lot of the kids laughed and made comments about hairless James. One even pointed out that she could see his wiener.
"Don't worry it will grow back in no time," William said taking the bags of wool to the table outside to card it. He stepped back in and empty a bag of pellets into the trough in the corner of the stall, "Eat up."
James was hungry. He didn't feel so cold after eating some of the dry pellets. He dranks some water too, and walked around his new home. It felt like a prison to him.
